SafeMeasures is a Web service for local departments of social services (LDSS). The service extracts data from OASIS twice each week and arranges into reports that highlight Transformation outcomes and other measures that are important to improving practice at the local level. SafeMeasures not only allows local users to view their agencies’ performance as a whole across all measures, but also allows for breakdown by supervisors, individual workers, and finally the client level.
Safe Measures is a response to long-standing LDSS requests for greater access to the data that they record in OASIS. With its ease of use and powerful reporting capabilities, Safe Measures not only makes that data available but enhances it significantly. Safe Measures is intended for localities to use as part of their own efforts to improve quality and performance. Safe Measures is being provided to the state for SFY 2010-2011 through a generous grant from Casey Family Programs. Our continued use of the tool thereafter, at state expense, will be determined in large part by how much localities use it and how much value it adds from the local perspective.
